Introduction
Stephen Colbert is an American professional comedian, writer, producer, actor, and television host with an estimated net worth of $75 Million.
Early Career
Stephen Colbert began his career at Second City, where he initially served as an understudy for Steve Carell with the school’s touring company. While performing with Second City, Colbert met Amy Sedaris and Paul Dinello, with whom he collaborated frequently later in his career. When Sedaris and Dinello left to create a series of HBO Downtown Productions, Colbert moved to New York to work with them. This led to the series Exit 57, which debuted in 1995 on Comedy Central and ran until 1996, when it was canceled.
The Daily Show
After leaving Exit 57, Stephen Colbert wrote for and starred on The Dana Carvey Show alongside Louis C.K. and Steve Carell. He then briefly worked on Saturday Night Live and as a scriptwriter consultant for VH1 and MTV, before being cast on Good Morning America. While he was hired to film humorous segments for the show, only two of the proposals he proposed ever aired, but it did open many doors for him. Soon after, his agent referred him to the producer of The Daily Show, where he was hired on a trial basis in 1997.
Originally a correspondent, Colbert was referred to as “the new guy” during his first two years on the show when Craig Kilborn was the host. However, when Jon Stewart took over in 1999, Colbert began adopting a persona, parodying conservative pundits like Bill O’Reilly. Thanks to the popularity of his character, other correspondents started adopting a similar style, which helped give the show a new tone.
During the 2000 and 2004 U.S. elections, Colbert contributed to The Daily Show’s award-winning coverage and reported from the floor of both parties’ conventions. Colbert also hosted the show for a week in 2002 and won an Emmy as a writer in 2004.
The Colbert Report
In 2005, Stephen Colbert was given his own show, The Colbert Report, which parodied political talk shows like Hannity and The O’Reilly Factor. The series started strong, averaging 1.2 million viewers during its first week, prompting Comedy Central to sign a long-term contract with Colbert.
While hosting the show, he expanded on his on-screen persona, claiming to have attended Dartmouth and been raised in South Carolina. The Colbert Report ran until 2014, and during its final episode, many previous guests, including Patrick Stewart and Cookie Monster, were reunited.
The Late Show
Shortly after the end of The Colbert Report, CBS announced that Colbert would take over for David Letterman on The Late Show. He took up the mantle on September 8, 2015, with his first guest, George Clooney, kicking off the show’s new era.
Colbert took the show in a more political direction as the host, playing off the format that had made The Colbert Report successful. During this tenure, he also hosted the 2017 Emmy Awards and most recently signed a deal with CBS Studios with his Spartina Production company. Through this deal, Colbert helped produce Tooning Out the News and Fairview in 2022 and is the executive producer of The God’s Honest Truth.
The Late Show Salary
When Colbert first began hosting The Late Show in 2015, reports suggest he was paid $4.6 million per year. However, just a year later, his ratings skyrocketed during Donald Trump’s election campaign. This drastically increased his negotiating power, and he eventually managed to secure a raise from CBS to $10 million per year.
In October 2019, Colbert signed a four-year extension with the network, which lasted until the end of 2023. Under the deal, he was paid a salary of $15 million per year. Putting it altogether, this should mean that Stephen Colbert earned approximately $94.6 million from hosting The Late Show between 2015 and 2023.
Business Ventures & Endorsements
Colbert has launched various business ventures and established brand partnerships beyond his television career. He has worked with brands like Ben & Jerry’s, Brooks Brothers, and Wonderful Pistachios. His partnership with Ben & Jerry’s started in 2007, and all the profits go to the Stephen Colbert AmeriCone Dream Fund, which helps various charitable causes.
He has also been rumored to work with more brands, but the details of those endorsements remain speculative. Although the financial information of his confirmed endorsements is unknown, considering his fame, reach, and popularity, these deals are likely worth hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of dollars.
In 2014, Colbert founded Scripto, a collaborative script-writing software company, with his wife, Evie McGee-Colbert, and former colleague Rob Dubbin. The company was founded to fill a void in software supporting collaborative writing-driven workflows, and it continues to operate today. Colbert has also written a recipe book with his wife, Does This Taste Funny: Recipes Our Family Loves, and is the co-author of the novel Wigfield: The Can-Do Town That Just May Not, along with Amy Sedaris and Paul Dinello.
Colbert’s ventures and partnerships highlight his ability to generate substantial income outside of comedy and television, which aligns well with his brand.
Comedy Central (Viacom) Lawsuit
In 2016, after leaving The Colbert Report, Colbert announced he was retiring the “Stephen Colbert” character. This was because Comedy Central, which is owned by Viacom, could have sued him for copyright infringement for using the character elsewhere. However, Colbert created a new character, the “twin cousin” of the Stephen Colbert character, who also happened to be called Stephen Colbert. Although the workaround was frustrating and caused him unnecessary stress, it worked well as he continued his career.
Rose Hanbury Legal Notice
In 2024, Colbert received a cease-and-desist letter from Rose Hanbury, the Marchioness of Cholmondeley. This was in response to Colbert’s joke on The Late Show about Hanbury having an affair with Prince William, the brother of Prince Harry and the next in line to be the King of England. Hanbury’s legal team firmly denied the allegations, claiming they were utterly false and defamatory. However, as of now, no further legal action has been taken, and the case remains pending.

Introduction
Seth Meyers is an American professional comedian, writer, and actor with an estimated net worth of $26 Million.
Late Night Contract Renewal
In 2024, shortly after Meyers celebrated 10 years of hosting Late Night with Seth Meyers, NBCUniversal announced that his contract had been renewed until 2028. The agreement also included a deal between Meyers’ own production company, Sethmaker Shoemeyers, and Universal Studio Group for him to develop other projects for NBCUniversal.
Meyers’ contract for hosting the show pays him around $5 million per year. However, this amount is significantly lower than that of other late-night TV hosts, such as Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel, who both earn $15 million per year.
Despite the renewal, the show’s house band, the 8G Band, was let go by the show in August 2024 to cut costs. However, they still provided pre-recorded music, rather than playing live in the studio. Since Meyers took over the slot from Jimmy Fallon in 2014, the show has received 11 Emmy nominations, seven Writers Guild of America Award nominations, and won two Critics’ Choice Awards.
Real Estate
Meyers and his wife purchased an apartment in the West Village neighborhood of New York in December 2013 for $3.5 million. Subsequently, they renovated the property before listing it for sale in 2017 for $4.5 million. The two-bedroom apartment, which featured a sunken living room with a fireplace, a modernized kitchen, and a spa bathroom, was sold in early 2018 for the full asking price.
Before the sale of the apartment was completed, the couple purchased a 5-bedroom duplex in Greenwich Village in 2016 for $7.5 million, as they needed more space following the birth of their first child. The 3,200-square-foot residence features two wood-burning fireplaces, a chef’s kitchen, a spacious living/dining room, four and a half bathrooms, and wooden beamed ceilings. The duplex occupies two floors of a 15-story building, which has only two apartments per floor, providing complete privacy for Meyers and his wife in a prime location in the city.
Philanthropy
Meyers has supported various charitable organizations, including Amnesty International, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Cycle for Survival, Forgotten Harvest, Memorial Sloan-Kettering, Mia Hamm Foundation, Motion Picture and Television Fund Foundation, Natural Resources Defense Council, and Somaly Mam Foundation.

Introduction
Gabriel Iglesias is an American professional comedian and actor with an estimated net worth of $40 Million.
Earnings History
Year | Earnings |
---|---|
2013 | $11,000,000 |
2015 | $8,500,000 |
2016 | $9,500,000 |
2018 | $20,500,000 |
2019 | $22,000,000 |
Total | $71,500,000 |
In 2013, Forbes listed Iglesias among the world’s highest-paid comedians, earning an estimated $11 million that year. During this time, the majority of his income was earned through live performances. This includes 2015 and 2016, when he made the list again, earning an estimated $8.5 million and $9.5 million, respectively. By 2018, Gabriel Iglesias was earning $20.5 million per year through a combination of live performances — 136 in a twelve-month period, to be exact — plus voiceover work, and of course, his Netflix contract. The following year, he earned a similar figure of $22 million, which shows just how much of an impact Netflix has had on his earnings since releasing his first special.
Netflix Deal
In 2024, Gabriel Iglesias signed a contract with Netflix to release several comedy specials exclusively on the streaming platform. However, this was not the first deal the comedian signed with Netflix, as he’d previously released specials such as I’m Sorry for What I Said When I Was Hungry in 2016 and One Show Fits All in 2019. In 2022, he released Stadium Fluffy: Live From Los Angeles, with the live performance at Dodger Stadium selling out.
Since signing his current agreement, Iglesias has released his fourth Netflix special, Legend of Fluffy, which aired in January 2025. According to industry estimates, under his numerous deals with Netflix, Gabriel earns anywhere between $10 million and $15 million per special.
Volkswagen Bus Collection
Wealthy celebrities often enjoy buying luxury supercars like Lamborghinis, Ferraris, and Bugattis. Others love collecting classic cars, such as American muscle from the 1960s and 1970s. Gabriel Iglesias, on the other hand, owns a collection of vehicles that truly fits his personality, and might not be all that surprising to his fans.
Iglesias loves to collect just one vehicle in particular, the Volkswagen Bus. In 2019, he took Business Insider on a tour of his museum, named The Fluffy Museum, which showcases his entire collection. By our count, there are roughly fourteen or fifteen VW buses lined up in his collection, each a different variant, either by color, cab, year, or model. This includes a custom-painted Iron Man Bus that used to be green. According to the Fluffy Guy himself, each VW Bus in his collection is valued at between $100,000 and $200,000. He also owns several VW Beetles, and of course, as any American classic car collector would, several Camaros.
In the video, Gabriel states that his current collection is worth approximately $3 million, with the VW Buses likely accounting for the majority of that value. The inspiration for collecting classic cars initially came from TV host Jay Leno, who is no stranger to valuable vehicles.
Real Estate
In September 2006, Gabriel Iglesias paid $1.4 million for a 3,322-square-foot, four-bedroom, four-bathroom home in Signal Hill, California. According to public records, ownership changed hands in 2018, but a purchase price was not listed. Reports suggest that he has since moved to San Antonio, Texas, although this is not entirely confirmed.

Introduction
Jordan Peele is an American professional actor, comedian, and filmmaker with an estimated net worth of $50 Million.
Before Wealth & Fame
Growing up in New York City, Jordan Peele was raised by his single mother in Manhattan’s Upper West Side. He attended The Calhoun School, a prestigious private school in the city, and was passionate about sketch comedy and horror movies from a young age. Peel later stated that some of his early influences included Eddie Murphy, Tim Burton, and Monty Python.
Although Jordan briefly attended Sarah Lawrence College, where he majored in puppetry and film, he dropped out after just two years to join Amsterdam’s Boom Chicago improv group. He lived there for roughly two years while performing with the group, and after this, he met Keegan-Michael Key while the pair worked together on MADtv in 2004. The duo would form a great friendship and, later, an iconic working relationship.
Key & Peele
Having already established a solid friendship, Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key co-developed and hosted the Comedy Central sketch-comedy show Key & Peele. The show featured numerous comical characters created by the duo, including DeVon, a paranoid landlord; Mr. Garvey, a substitute teacher; and Luther, an anger translator for Barack Obama.
From 2012 to 2015, the show aired on Comedy Central for five seasons and 54 episodes. Although it wasn’t the first project of Key and Peele’s career, it cemented their position in the comedic industry.
TV Career
Before, during, and after Key & Peele, Jordan landed various roles in popular television shows. Many of these roles were single-episode appearances in series such as Reno 911!, The Mindy Project, Workaholics, and Modern Family.
Peele is also well-known for his voiceover work in adult animated television shows, including Bob’s Burgers, American Dad!, Robot Chicken, Rick & Morty, and Big Mouth. In fact, in recent years, Netflix’s Big Mouth has been Peele’s most significant series, playing multiple characters throughout the show’s eight seasons.
Monkeypaw Productions
In 2012, Jordan Peele launched Monkeypaw Productions, his film production company. While the company was founded at the same time as Key & Peele aired, it would later serve as the production company for all of Peele’s horror films.
In 2017, desperate to revisit his childhood passion for horror movies, Peele produced his first horror flick, Get Out, through Monkeypaw Productions on a $4.5 million budget. The film featured a never-before-seen plotline and was a massive success in the genre, grossing over $255 million globally.
This led to Monkeypaw Productions inking a five-year exclusive deal with Universal Pictures, resulting in a string of unique horror films produced in the late 2010s and early 2020s. These films, including Us (2019), BlacKkKlansman (2018), Candyman (2021), and Nope (2022), have featured stars such as Daniel Kaluuya, Bradley Whitford, Keke Palmer, and Winston Duke. While the company is best known for its films Get Out, Us, and Nope, it has also produced several hit TV shows, including Lorena, Weird City, The Twilight Zone, and The Last O.G.
Highest-Grossing Films
The films produced by Jordan Peele through Monkeypaw Productions have performed well at the box office, grossing over $800 million. Get Out and Us produced the highest returns on investment, with budgets of $5 million and $4.5 million, respectively. Nope had the highest production budget of any film the company has produced, costing a total of $68 million. However, it struggled to reach the heights of the earlier films, grossing just $172 million.
Here’s a list of the highest-grossing films that Moneypaw Productions has produced:
- Us – $256 million
- Get Out – $255 million
- Nope – $171 million
- BlackKkKlansman – $93.4 million
- Candyman – $77.4 million
- Monkey Man – $35.3 million
- Keanu – $20.7 million
